Analogical Reasoning is one of the most interesting problems in Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Science. The aim of the research is to model analogical aspects of human intelligence and building intelligent agents which are capable of making inferences through analogies. In this talk, I will present a broad overview of the topic and discuss why the problem is important. Three models, ANALOGY, SME and Copycat, which are the important representatives of the previous works will be covered. The microworld that I'm working on and basics of Situation Theory, which is an alternative model of logic and semantics developed since 1980s, are to be discussed. Fundamental principles of methodology and some principles that I follow in my research will be told together with application of Situation Theory to the problem in my hand.
